To address your direct statement, there has been plenty of information in the past about tradeoffs from stock design but we're not comparing a stock ECU or a stock car. There is a hell of a lot more to it and that's precisely why I try not to get too involved in these since I'm not an expert (and you shouldn't need to be to put two and two together).
